kalaNDR - Smart Vedic Calendar

A Panchang engine, not a date list. Tithi, paksha, nakshatra, moon shape and festival dates are calculated from the sky above the location you pick.

Location and month names

Your calendar uses this place for sunrise, moonrise and festival dates. It is set from your device automatically; change it only if you want another city.

Sections to show

The calendar always stays. Hidden sections still work in the background, so alarms and reminders will still ring.

"Match my device" follows your phone or computer's light and dark setting automatically. Pictures are shrunk and saved in this browser. Your own sounds must be under 1 MB. Alarms repeat the ringtone until you dismiss them; reminders play the reminder sound once. Your device's own notification banner keeps its system sound.

Vrat days this month

Bills & travel

Add credit card, loan and other bills yourself, or let the app read your Gmail for due dates and trips. They appear in the calendar squares and the reminders list.

Read my Gmail (optional)

Read-only access. Emails are read and understood inside your browser; nothing is sent to our servers (there are none). The app never stores email text, only the dates you tick and add. Press Disconnect to revoke access at any time. The access token lasts about one hour.

One-time setup (about 10 minutes)
  1. Open console.cloud.google.com, create a project, then APIs & Services → Library → enable Gmail API.
  2. OAuth consent screen: type External, add your own Gmail as a Test user, and keep the app in Testing.
  3. Credentials → Create credentials → OAuth client ID → type Web application. Under Authorized JavaScript origins add https://kalandr.in.
  4. Copy the Client ID, paste it above and press Connect. Google will show an "unverified app" notice because the app is yours and in testing: choose Continue.

Works on your own website and on you and up to 100 test users. It does not work inside the Claude preview. Google requires a paid security review before the Gmail permission can be used by the general public.

Reminders & alarms

Reminders are saved in this browser only. Alarms ring only while this tab stays open.

Method: sidereal positions with Lahiri ayanamsa. A day takes the tithi running at the reference time its festival rule uses: sunrise, midday, pradosh (sunset + 40 min), midnight or moonrise. If a tithi spans two days the first day is shown; a skipped tithi (kshaya) falls on the day it is skipped. Sankranti is the day the Sun changes sign in daylight, or the following day if it changes at night. Adhika months carry no festivals. Smarta-style rules are used, so Vaishnava Ekadashi, Tamil, Bengali, Malayali and other regional calendars can differ. Check important dates against a published Panchang.
